As Above, So Below

When our human civilization managed to list the various elements and molecules found in nature—the periodic table of elements, where each element is defined by the number of protons in its atoms—we believed we had finally reached the core of matter. Fast-forward, we dove even deeper: into subatomic particles, electrons, neutrons, and, more recently, exotic particles such as quarks, gluons, pentaquarks, tetraquarks, and the Higgs boson, discovered only in recent decades. That’s what I call the downward vision—the view through microscopes.

On the other side—the upward vision—through telescopes, we mapped our solar system, then the Milky Way. Today, hardly a day passes without a new discovery of planets, stars, and galaxies.

Across all this exploration, one truth emerges, subtle yet undeniable: There is nothing in the universe that stands alone. The Whole is all-encompassing.

Every form, every structure, every entity exists only as part of a larger arrangement. Nothing is isolated. Nothing is self-sufficient. Everything is nested within something else, supported by something, and contributing to something.

A particle exists within an atom.
An atom exists within a molecule.
A molecule exists within a cell.
A cell exists within an organism.

A planet exists within a solar system.
A solar system within a galaxy.
Galaxies flow into clusters, superclusters, and ultimately the vast cosmic web stretching across the observable universe.

Humans, too, are organisms that evolved over time, carrying organs made of tissues, muscles, bones, and countless cells—all cooperating. We belong to the green life on Earth, to our planet, to our solar system, to the Milky Way, and to the universe. We are hosts to an infinite number of living forms, and at the same time, parts of infinite cosmic structures.

Perhaps the most fundamental truth is not a particle, not a force, and not even a mathematical law—but a pattern woven into the fabric of existence itself. A truth whispered across all scales of reality:

As above, so below.
All is one.

Everything exists within something else, connected, nested, layered, and woven into a greater whole. Nothing—not even us—stands truly alone.
